Many of us are facing challenges in the society due to social, cultural, or economical background and living a balanced and happy life in the surrounding society that encourages the usage of drugs and alcohol among other damaging habits that increasingly are proven to cause many mental illnesses such as depression, and lead to problems coping in the society, such as inability to find job or education. The goal of this project is for young people aged 18-30 to gain practical, empowering tools for a healthy, happy lifestyle, learn alternative ways of living, and have fun without using substances while enhancing tolerance for diversity. Some of us have participated in the two last editions of the Ananda Festival of Bliss in different ways as well as performers of the cultural association Sociedade Musical Simpatia e Gratidão. We were really impressed and touched by the festival and the way it promotes healthy lifestyles in cool, fun and attractive ways for young people by a program with a great variety of interesting workshops (theatre, dance, yoga & acro yoga, music, art, ecology, etc.) and performances. The festival is drug and alcohol-free, which is not common in our communities - especially alcohol and smoking are very dominant parts of the party culture all around Europe and the whole world. We were so deeply affected by the atmosphere of the event that it changed the way we think, which is the reason of creating this project: we want to share this experience with our peers from different countries and learn practicalities of organizing alternative events, so that we can organize something similar in our local communities and show that it is possible to have fun and enjoy festivals without drugs and alcohol and by that inspire for a real change in the world! The objectives of this project are: 01 To create individual learning strategies of learning that reflects self-awareness of personal skills and abilities; 02 To develop artistic, creative ways of self-expression that increase self-esteem and teamwork; 03 To gain practical healthy lifestyle skills; 04 To increase skills and knowledge in organizing and running alcohol and drug-free festival events that present and promote healthy lifestyle in a fun and attractive way for the youth; 05 Create long-term connections between the participants for potential future actions. We seek to address the following needs and issues through this project: - Feeling of meaninglessness, lack of self-esteem; - Intolerance; - Dependence on recreational substances; - Lack of tools for living happy and healthy lives; - Lack of peer support; - The need for a meaningful, inclusive and participatory role in the society, that increases employability and activeness in the society; - The need to connect with other people and one-self ; - The need for personal growth; - The need of gaining skills and experience for labor market; - The need for intercultural dialogue and understanding of differences .
