Objectives

The project "Sports for all? Yes, please!" emerged as a response to the challenges launched by Erasmus+, at a time when Europe is facing issues such as the increase in social protest or the outbreak of movements that defend the disintegration of Europe as we know it. The growing levels of unemployment, especially among young people who leave school prematurely and adults with few qualifications, are one of the main points of objection and the EU defined the fight against unemployment, in particular youth unemployment, as one of the priorities of the then framework community. The proj. addressed one of the groups most affected by unemployment and lack of opportunities: young people with disabilities. We intended to endow the orgs. of tools that would allow them to work with young people with disabilities, helping their integration into society, promoting equal rights and opportunities, through the promotion of sports activities adapted to their physical/sensory and mental conditions. The training was aimed at youth workers (with and without a disability) and promoted sports activity adapted to people with a disability/physical/sensory and/or mental disability, through reflections, workshops, group dynamics, visits field and sport practice of Boccia, Goalball, Volleyball, Athletics, etc. The objectives of the proj. they were: *Promote the practice of sports adapted to people with disabilities *Promote the active citizenship of young people in general and their European citizenship in particular *Developing solidarity and promoting tolerance among young people, in particular in order to promote social cohesion in the EU *Developing mutual understanding between young people from different countries, as well as intercultural awareness of the EU *Improve skills and abilities of participants and org. *Promote European cooperation in the field of youth *Contribute to the achievement of the Europe 2020 goals *Promote the E+ program in its various aspects with young people and the community in general *Celebrate 30 years of Erasmus In order to reach them, we had the support of technicians specialized in the areas of adapted sports who streamlined the activities. Inclusion was the dominant theme. We promoted moments of debate and reflection aimed at fighting discrimination against people with disabilities through non-formal education. More than direct exposure to specific sports activities adapted to people with disabilities, we celebrate the diversity of approaches to disability in different countries, seeking a more active involvement of young people in this area. Over the course of 7 days, participants had direct contact with this target audience, as some participants were young people with disabilities, which facilitated real knowledge of their differences and similarities.
