WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE We are currently living in a global age marked by intense migratory flows across Europe and this tending to intensify. However, there are a tendency to behaviours nationalist, to closure and to hostility against migrants, ethnic minorities, or refugees. The increased attitudes of intolerance and discrimination towards these individuals make difficult the process of them social inclusion, which is quite arduous. When they leave their country, these young people are faced with an intense cultural and linguistic shock and there are still few dynamics of action to facilitate their adaptation. Considering this reality, the social problem that we address with the implementation of this project is the difficulty of social inclusion faced by migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities, caused by the enormous prejudice and misinformation that exists before these groups. In this sense, we have developed a Training Course, with the clear aim of empowering Youth Workers with skills, learning and tools that allow them to work effectively with these young people, recognizing their problems, needs and expectations and acting in accordance with them to promote their inclusion through intercultural dialogue, multiculturalism, tolerance and the internalization of fundamental European values. NEEDS AND AIMS In order to understand which aims are most suitable for the project, it was essential to clarify the identified needs. In this way, based on the following needs, we developed the set of goals to be achieved: a) Needs - Creation of mobility and learning opportunities for YW that allow their personal and professional development; - Recognition of the condition and problems faced by migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities; - Acquisition of skills and knowledge of tools and methodologies by the YW to promote dynamics that promote the social inclusion of migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities; - Strengthening European identity and intercultural dialogue in order to build a tolerant and inclusive European environment. b) Aims - Empowering Youth Workers (via non-formal education - NFE) with key competences to promote the transformation of the most vulnerable social realities and a more effective engagement with ethnic minorities, migrants or refugees; - Promote the diffusion of values of diversity, multiculturalism and tolerance through society; - Promote intercultural dialogue, cooperation between participants and participation of young people with fewer opportunities in society; - Sensitize youth workers, young people and society to the problems and processes of social exclusion faced by migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities in order to reduce the preconception and discrimination in such cases; - Promote the social inclusion of young migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities, empowering youth workers with competences and learning that enable such inclusion; - Promote the social participation of young migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities on society. For the present objectives, the objectives in line with the Erasmus+ program and Key Action 1 were also considered. a) Erasmus+ - Europe 2020 strategy to reduce social exclusion; - Compliance with the objectives of the Strategic Framework for European cooperation in education and training 2020; - Agreement with the general objectives of the renewed Framework for European cooperation in the youth sector; - Promotion of common European values, in accordance with article 2 of the EU Treaty and the Paris Declaration 2015. b) KA1 - Supporting the YW skills acquisition process, with a view to improving their personal and professional development; - In making participants aware of the understanding of other cultures, offering them the opportunity to build a network of international contacts and to develop their sense of European citizenship; - Strengthening the capacity, attractiveness and international dimension of organizations working in the youth field, in the sense that, with their participation in the project, they will become more assertive in responding to the needs of young people; - In promoting the European Union's development and foreign policy objectives and principles, such as social cohesion, equity and diversity; - In promoting NFE as a methodology of excellence in training in the youth field; - In line with the priorities of mobility projects, namely the inclusion of young people, the promotion of diversity, intercultural dialogue and common European values.
