Objectives

GENERAL OBJECTIVE Increasing the degree of inclusion of students from the Hungarian section through activities carried out in the unit together with Romanian students, in order to develop communication skills in the Romanian language and social interaction between ethnic groups with the aim of improving the results of the end-of-year exams. Specific objectives O1. The development of social inclusion skills among 11 teaching staff by participating, until July 2021, in training programs aimed at promoting the design and organization of multicultural activities with students of both ethnicities in the school. O2 Increasing, during the year 2021, the number of joint activities carried out between Romanian and Hungarian students, thanks to a complex of 7 extracurricular activities that will promote social dialogue carried out in the Romanian language, in the context of an inclusive approach. O3. The increase by at least 20%, in July 2021, of the baccalaureate qualification in the Romanian language discipline, for the Hungarian speaking students of the school.

Background

The SWOT reports of the methodical commissions in the school highlights the problems of students from the Hungarian section in passing the baccalaureate exam in Romanian language and literature. For example, the report that is based on the national statistics of the 2019 Baccalaureate exam, highlights that the passing rate of the Romanian language baccalaureate exam, of students from the Hungarian section of the unit, is only 57.14%. In addition, due to this status, as a bilingual school, customs are highlighted that are already rooted in the tradition of the college and that do not at all prove the inclusive character of the organisation, all of which lead to a situation that reveals little cultural interference and social between the students of the two sections, which demonstrates the weak intercultural approach in the unit. It was thus proposed to increase the degree of inclusion of ethnic Hungarian students in the unit's activities, to promote an inclusive pedagogy and a complex of multicultural extracurricular activities between Romanian and Hungarian students. These interactions and jointly organized activities will help the Hungarian students to express themselves better in the Romanian language, will increase the inclusive character of the school.
