Objectives

Every project's main objective is to enhance the quality of education via as many actions as possible and on as many levels as envisioned. Three points were meant to be addressed through this project : adapting our school's educational practices to the European standards; ensuring equality in education and all students' participation in the learning process; and developing active partnerships with institutions present in the European network. The outcomes of school's environment analysis for 2018-2019 showed an increase in the number of SEN children, teachers' lack of experience in dealing with them, a decrease in motivation regarding the formal learning, bullying and cyberbullying issues. All these needed to be solved in an updated, modern manner, in line with European directions. The three main objectives were therefore : 1. Exchange of good practices in working with SEN and children with the risk of early school leaving; 2. Developing teaching methods that include IT apps and media to grow quality in education ; 3. Increasing the learning motivation of all children (SEN, Roma community, students from unfavorable environment, bullied students), through new approaches like learning to ask questions.

Background

In our school's plan, three of the major objectives could be easily and very satisfactorily attained through the European mobilities. That is facilitating success for students to graduate, monitoring education through teacher training, and enhancing pupils' skills in learning how to learn and growing their autonomy. Also, our school was never before accepted for a KA1 and few teachers beneficiated from a European training offered by foreign training institutions. Enhancing teachers' communication in English, establishing further cooperation with European teachers, developing technological skills in the world of today as well as learning and finding new methods in educating SEN pupils have been a must in the past five years, in our school. All these aspects needed to be taken care of from a higher level, a European one, not only local or national. These three main branches - IT teaching and learning, inclusive learning and autonomous learning were meant to increase school's attractivity in the context of highly demotivated students from rural or marginal urban backgrounds and of the early school leaving situations our institution had faced in the past years.
