The basic mission of the National Military College "Dimitrie Cantemir" is the development of the key skills specific to the vocational field, the mathematics-informatics specialization. The main purpose of preparing our students is their admission to the Military Academies. The admission test consists of multiple choice items. Hence the efforts to digitize the evaluation process by finding clear, efficient, objective methods adapted to the modernity of the century in which we live. By implementing this project, we aimed to use the RoArmy Ilias educational platform to its maximum capacity, made available by the Ministry of Defense for pre-university and university institutions in the military system. The creation of a database within the platform that allowed students to simulate an entrance exam with real-time feedback represented a strategic target of institutional development. Moreover, after using some applications that allow testing an extensive content in a short time, with a high level of objectivity, we are talking about a considerable progress and numerous advantages in the evaluation process.
The main reason we applied for this project was the need to train the teachers in order to use information technology in the teaching-evaluation process. In other words, it is about the continuity that this project ensured in relation to the most recent Erasmus project carried out in our school, "Flipped classroom". Until the moment of submitting the application, we had managed to successfully implement modern teaching methods, such as the Flipped Classroom, which enjoyed a real success among the students. However, despite the quality of the information and the modern exposure methods, the classic tests, on paper, still remained a stress factor, both for teachers and students, due to the long time allocated to the correction of the tests together with the suspense of the students until they find out the results and the evaluation format itself. It was not efficient at all to teach modern and evaluate traditionally. Thus, the provision of modern methods and in the evaluation process, the correlation of students' needs with the training needs of teaching staff in order to use technology were the main reasons for applying to this project.
