Objectives

Project objectives: 1. Increasing the success rate of including pupils with special needs by 10%, by training 4 teachers in a 6-day European course dealing with developing competencies meant to facilitate the inclusion of pupils with special needs or with fewer opportunities throughout the project 2. Improving school results and school attendance by 15% for the learners in the next school year, by training 4 teachers in a 6-day European course focused on developing the ICT skills to be used during classes and to create an attractive school environment, both for the students and the teaching staff. 2. Improving digital and inclusive pedagogy competencies for 80% of our school teachers by training 4 teachers in a 5-day European course focused on digital pedagogy and modern ICT tools and media.

Background

The aim of the project is the affirmation of the school in the community, based on the adaptation and improvement of the educational actions of the teachers from "George Calinescu" Secondary School, through training at the European level, aiming to create an attractive, motivating, and including school environment for all students. Several staff meetings and questionnaires applied to teachers from the school highlighted two areas of concern. The first one was the concept of inclusion and how to deal with pupils with special educational needs. The second was the use of modern technology and teachers' lack of skills in the field of ITC. The best solution that our team has found was to apply for a European grant that would fulfill the majority of our requirements: internationally validated and certified courses in the fields of interest, and diverse face-to-face experiences with teachers from different countries. Consequently, the project i-TICK was designed as a solution to our most imperative needs: creating inclusive educational environments by training teachers in two fields: inclusion and use of ICT; developing human resources by improving teachers' digital competencies and developing the European dimension. .
