We have established as the main objective of the project the provision of quality educational services in the field of inclusive education in order to ensure equal opportunities for pupils, by developing the competences of teaching staff to use work strategies specific to inclusive education that lead to an increase in the quality of the educational act offered to pupils with SEN, in accordance with practices at the European level, for a better educational/social inclusion of them. Through the participation of the 16 teaching staff in training courses in the European space, the training and development of skills was pursued in order to ensure equal opportunities for pupils with SEN, the improvement of skills for implementing cooperation/collaboration strategies between the classroom teacher and the itinerant and support teacher for facilitating the school inclusion of pupils with SEN, promoting tolerance, acceptance of diversity and non-discriminatory behaviors, competences that lead to the development of unitary work tools, respecting the psycho-individual characteristics and specific needs of pupils with SEN, for the promotion of equal opportunities and the formation of proactive behaviors to prevent school dropout.
The analysis of needs that was the basis of the PDI and the analysis of the applied questionnaire regarding the training needs of the school's teaching staff, highlighted a series of aspects of the training and development of teaching staff in the field of inclusive education that needed to be improved. The increase in the number of pupils with SEN integrated in regular schools, the increase in the number of itinerant and support teachers assigned to them, led us to apply for a training mobility in the field of inclusive education. The professional development of teachers has a direct impact on the quality of education provided to pupils, and the Erasmus+ programme gave us the opportunity for the participation of a number of 16 teachers from our school in training courses, supported by trainers from Europe, with experience and expertise in the field of inclusive education. We considered participation in European training courses useful both for the personal and professional development of the participants as well as for the development of our institution, the long-term result being a better school/social integration of pupils with special needs, but also the harmonization of institutional management with that of schools in Europe.
