Objectives

As a consequence to the teachers participating to these courses we estimated the following results: A 10% increase in the number of students who feel secure at school. A 5% decrease in the number of students with lowered behaviour marks. A 7% increase in the number of parents involved in school activities (school activities and extracurricular). An improvement of at least 10% of the teacher's happiness at the workplace. A 15% increase in the number of classes and disciplines that make use of new technologies.

Background

At the date we wrote this project, BRINGING HAPPINESS TO THE CLASSROOM, the school, the teachers and the non-teaching staff, the students and their parents, all of them had to face a set of challenges such as: the high number of students in a class, the lack of classrooms necessary to assure all the lessons taking place in the morning (the 3rd graders have to come to school in the afternoon together with part of the secondary school children, all the preparatory classes, except for the step-by-step ones, have to go to another nearby school). According to the SWOT analysis that was the foundation of the PDI document, one of the weak points that was identified was the low usage of new techologies and interactive methods in the teaching-learning-evaluation process. To these challenges other added up such as: group cohesion, the lack of involvement of the teachers in projectsa and activities that promote the image of the school and stimulate the student to learn. The above mentioned project represented an opportunity to solve some of the problems that were identified by sending some teachers to courses in the following domains: bullying, team building. leadership and new technologies.
