The purpose of the project in our high school was to train young people in European companies, to obtain professional skills that would make them perform well on the European labor market. Thus, the school proposed and managed to develop partnerships with employers from European companies, with the aim of promoting learning at the workplace, through practical activities, and trained students in the qualifications of automation technician and mechanical technician for maintenance and repairs, qualifications required on the local, regional and European labor market. Good training in high school specializations, especially the practical one, led to a good performance of the students as well as of the employing companies with which our high school has contracts. Learning English, its assimilation led to better communication with various employers, both local and European. The observable results at the completion of the project led to the signing of new partnerships with economic agents on the local market.
We applied for this project to acquire and improve the skills of our students in certain specializations, namely automation and mechanics. Through this project, the students acquired key knowledge and skills for their further development. The need for specialists, both of the high school and of the local community, led to the need to apply for these European projects that lead to the development of the area. The students' participation in the project developed confidence in one's own strength. The specialized practical training of the students in the automation and mechanic trades, in real working conditions, made the students competitive on the European labor market. Attracting and increasing interest in trades has determined the change of attitude of students from rural areas, from disadvantaged backgrounds. The improved English language skills were acquired through practice at the workplace. Competences and practical skills were developed in automation and mechanics, by 30%; language skills were improved and they obtained B2 level in the baccalaureate exam in proportion of 20%; the results of the technical modules improved by 10%, especially for students from rural areas.
