The project had four objectives that were established in connection with the School Action Plan (key areas to be improved, strategic targets, courses of action and specific objectives) and starting from the needs identified through the SWOT analysis carried out by the school's management team. O1- the development and strengthening knowledge, skills, attitudes and competences according to the Professional Training Standards for 42 students, 10th grade, in the fields of Food/Tourism/Commerce by carrying out internships (learning mobilities of VET learners) at companies in EU countries O2- development of professional communication skills, in a common European language O3- promoting equality of opportunity on the labour market of LTET pupils through the direct acquisition of European professional experiences O4- facilitating intercultural dialogue, tolerance in order to promote active European citizenship.
When the project was written, the Economic Technological High School of Tourism had 921 pupils (93.9% in high school, 6.1% in vocational education),preparing in the fields of Food, Tourism or Commerce/Economics. 70% of the pupils came from rural areas, from families with limited opportunities, financially disadvantaged, at risk of dropping out of school and social marginalisation. Taking as a reference the objectives and targets provided by the Europe 2020 Strategy, the Education and Vocational Training Strategy in Romania for 2014-2020, the Local Action Plan for Education 2017-2025, the management team carried out an analysis to identify the needs of the school and achieve The School Action Plan 2017-2021. The SWOT analysis highlighted the following needs in the field of mobility and European cooperation:ensuring the quality of professional training at the EU level;strengthening communication skills in a foreign language;improving the competitiveness of graduates on the national and EU labour market;developing the European dimension of the school. The implementation of the project "Start for a European Career in Services" was the school's first experience with regard to the Erasmus+ KA102-VET learner and staff mobility projects.
