The aim of the project was to emphasize the European and international dimension in vocational training and to adopt a set of modern tools in VET schools for their strategic development activity, in order to reduce absenteeism/dropout and to reduce the unemployment rate among young people. The specific objectives were: O1. Acquiring key competences, through on-the-job learning in an international context, by 84 students of technological high schools members of the regional mobility consortium 'HD-TM-VET', as well as skills and knowledge specific to the field of qualification, recognized by European instruments ECVET, Europass. O2. Improving competences applicable to the strategic development activity of the organisations from which 12 teaching staff of the administrative staff responsible for the management and strategic development of VET institutions come from through international training mobility O3.Strengthening capacity of VET units in the West Region in order to cooperate successfully with international partners, companies and VET institutions in order to facilitate geographical and professional mobility and increase employability of young people.
Through the Erasmus+ project, ”The chance to become a good technician!” implemented between 12/01/2020 – 11/30/2022 the mobility consortium "HD-TM VET" of 4 technical high schools aimed to make lifelong learning and mobility a reality for students and teachers in the Western region of Romania and to respond to the challenge existing at European level that "a generation of young people, the Millennium, "Generation Y" should not be the first generation poorer than their parents". With the help of this project we wanted to give students the opportunity to have their first encounter with a real working environment, to get in touch with a different way of training in a European space, with another culture and to strengthen European cooperation in the field of education and vocational training. We wanted the mobility to go beyond the purely labour market aspect, to contribute significantly to the fight against school drop-out and to improve educational equity. We wanted to increase the quality of initial and continuing vocational education and training, to develop European partnerships for internships and to obtain European recognition certificates.
