As CJRAE specialists, we set out to reduce school violence, especially the phenomenon of bullying, to make the school a safer and friendlier environment where children can develop healthy and effective interpersonal relationships for their future, in a better world good and more tolerant. This is why our project "Stop Bullying, Start Cooperation!" has as its main objective the development of new skills in preventing and reducing the phenomenon of bullying for teachers, parents and students. The objectives of our project focused on two main directions: prevention of bullying behavior and intervention in bullying situations. The aggressive behavior prevention component includes: - Acquiring knowledge about the bullying phenomenon (causes, forms of manifestation, effects) and prevention methods - The transfer of knowledge and methods to prevent aggression, to the other teaching staff from CJRAE Sibiu, teaching staff from educational units, parents and students, through dissemination activities and workshops. - The acquisition of new skills by teachers in terms of emotion management, mindfulness and emotional intelligence, necessary in the prevention of bullying The anti-bullying component includes: - Learning effective techniques and strategies to combat aggression -Implementing the strategies learned in the educational units where teachers, school counselors and speech therapists work - Reducing the phenomenon of bullying during counseling and guidance classes with students, where the strategies from the project are implemented
Our institution CJRAE Sibiu applied for this project because the bullying in schools has unfortunately become a worrying phenomenon that affects children from a very young age. It represents a form of aggression, hostile behavior, exclusion, humiliation of a person, without the ability to defend himself and which aims at the aggressor's desire to gain authority. The phenomenon of bullying exists in Romanian society and it is very important to know how to identify it correctly, we are aware that it is a form of violence, which has harmful effects on the emotional, mental and even physical health of our students. Bullying affects the mental health of students, so they must intervene to ensure their well-being. The most common causes that determine such behavior of the aggressor can be the lack of respect, empathy, the superficiality of interpersonal relationships and, above all, the exposure and acquisition of similar behavioral models - most of the time, children reproduce what they see. The new provision introduced in the Education Law states that in educational units and in all spaces designed for education and professional training, behaviors that consist of psychological violence - bullying are prohibited. This law is a first step towards protecting the dignity of children in the education system. What we want, as a specialty by running this project within our institution was to create our management strategies for this phenomenon, as well as to develop key skills in solving these problems for both adults and implicitly students, to improve communication relationships between students and their colleagues and not only, to develop social skills, empathy, effective management of emotions, all of which are necessary to prevent and combat bullying.
