Objectives

The objective of the project "Learning activities for the care staff of people with oncological diseases" is: The development/acquisition of skills and competences to European standards, for the staff of the "Oncosuport" center in order to effectively promote it, ensure quality services for beneficiaries and create a beneficial working climate for both, beneficiaries and staff, by organizing 12 mobility for structured learning activities (courses), for the staff who work voluntarily/employed in the "Oncosuport" center, of the "Phoenix" Post-secondary Institute. The main goal was to develop skills for the selection and work with volunteers, in the use of non-formal creative methods of information/teaching, of managing the stress created at the workplace, of promoting the activity. Another specific objective pursued was to increase the number of volunteers in the center, the motivation and the quality of the services offered by them.

Background

The project represented an opportunity to carry out a structured learning activity, by participating in Erasmus+ courses, for 11 volunteers from the "Oncosuport" center within the "Phoenix" Post-Secondary Institute association. In the short and medium term, in the period 2020-2022, the "Phoenix" Post-Secondary Institute association has proposed to carry out international cooperation activities in order to continue and develop and diversify the activities of the Oncosuport center, intended for people diagnosed with cancer and their relatives. The project represented an opportunity for increasing the number of volunteers in the Oncosupport center and diversifying their specialization. Unfortunately, the situation generated by the Covid pandemic during 2020-2022 did not allow the number of beneficiaries of the center to increase.
