The idea of the project started from the fact that between the urban environment and the rural environment there are substantial differences when it comes to infrastructure, access to basic services, educational opportunities, or insertion into the labor market. The needs analysis carried out in the planning stage identified a series of challenges that young people in rural areas face, namely: - fewer formal and non-formal education opportunities: specialized schools and universities, as well as youth NGOs are often non-existent - there is a small job market and a high unemployment rate among young people - lack of leisure activities, lack of cultural activities - public transport is often non-existent, rare, or difficult to access - lack of information about issues, opportunities and initiatives related to youth - poor medical care - frequent problems with excessive alcohol consumption and smoking among young people due to boredom and lack of opportunities: the local bar is often the only meeting point in the village One of the main causes of this state of affairs is that of the economic dependence, almost exclusively, on agriculture, a fact which produces clear negative effects in terms of development, well-being and sustainability of rural communities. Through this project, we aim to contribute to the development of rural communities by promoting digital entrepreneurship among young people and by encouraging them to pursue business opportunities online. Digital entrepreneurship can be an effective tool for young people in rural areas to develop skills that will allow them to integrate into the labor market without having to migrate to cities. Thus, the following objectives were established within the project: Purpose: To raise the awareness of young people in rural areas about the opportunities of digital entrepreneurship. Specific objectives: - Development of digital skills of 36 young people from rural areas, between May 1, 2020 - January 31, 2021, through non-formal learning activities. - Development of entrepreneurial skills of 36 young people from rural areas, between May 1, 2020 - January 31, through non-formal learning activities.
