Objectives

BACKGROUND AND CONTENT Disabled people face many difficulties in daily life. People park at handicapped points, people with walking disabilities only use stairs etc. places in difficulties. However, stairs can be “Mount Everest” for people with disabilities other than walking. Necessary arrangements should be made for the disabled. Although some of the job opportunities have been created for them recently, they are often overlooked in society. We wanted to implement such a project together with our other partners in order to prevent unfair discrimination, reintegrate the disabled into society and enable them to do sports. The European Union has tried to combat discrimination on the basis of gender, racial or ethnic origin, religious belief or opinion, disability, age or sexual orientation during the determination and implementation of its policies and measures. According to the first article of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Convention aims to promote and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of human rights and freedoms and to strengthen respect for human dignity. Based on this information, we also realized our project to remind the disabled that they have their own place in social life, to raise awareness in the society on this issue and to reintegrate them into the society. In this context, the goals we have achieved with the project are as follows; OBJECTIVES OF OUR PROJECT • To ensure the active participation of disabled people in social life, • To support the reintegration of people with disabilities into society, • To raise awareness that disabled people can do sports, • To raise awareness about Braille alphabet and sign language, • To eliminate xenophobia, • To provide cultural exchange, • To provide fair opportunities for limited participants, • To develop the empathy skills of the participants, • To disseminate the Erasmus Plus program, • To ensure that young people benefit from the democratic system, • To increase the participation of young people in volunteering activities in order to increase the awareness of the disabled in society, • To prevent disabled people from feeling isolated and to adapt to social life with the help of the whole society, • To eliminate xenophobia, • To provide cultural exchange, • Involving participants with limited opportunities, • To ensure the active participation of young people in our project, • To develop the empathy skills of the participants, • To ensure the visibility and dissemination of the Erasmus + program. • It was in the form of raising awareness about European Union Citizenship among young people. All these goals were achieved in the content of our project and the participants and the target audience were informed about the subject. Attention was drawn to the issue and awareness was created. In this context, a step has been taken and the process has been supported.
