Personal data plays a fundamental role in our daily lives, influencing the democracy in which we live. Many citizens make a decision based on the news and articles that appear in their feed, which can have negative consequences at the society level. For example, in the electoral process, where fake news and manipulation are crucial factors when it comes to their final decision. Our tendency, as humans, is to focus on technology. Given the fact that we spend so much time each day connected to an electronic computer and communications device, it is shocking that we know so little about our rights on the Internet and the importance of the security of personal data. Regardless of the country you are in, there is a chance of being exposed to certain dangers when it comes to personal data. The Internet is a place where there are very few rules and which has the power to unite but also to divide. All people naturally have inclinations and certain things that define them. Knowing these preferences and as much information about them can lead to manipulation. So anyone can be manipulated if their data are analyzed and used in a proper way. These methods of controlling the decisions will be perfected, those who use the data come to exploit them as efficiently as possible; decisions will belong to people less and less. Young people expressed their fear of the harmful effect of misusing personal data and how it might evolve. It's a known thing, with no need for examples or demonstrations, as technology advances exponentially. Therefore, personal data will be processed, systematized and transformed into control methods with increasing accuracy and efficiency. Without a trace of exaggeration, in a short time, people will be to such an extent dependent on the information from outside and influenced by them, that it will reach an irreversible state in which their own discernment can be completely lacking. Although this scenario seems bleak, it is at this point only a reason why we should take seriously what happens to our personal data. We are more than responsible for our future and it is natural to want to belong to us. Given a large number of security incidents and the worrying effects of manipulation and misinformation, we proposed the following objectives: Purpose: To increase the capacity of young people to protect themselves in the online environment. Objectives: 1. Increasing the capacity of 35 young people between the ages of 18-30 to identify false and manipulative elements in the online environment, during the project period. 2. Development of knowledge regarding the European legislation and the rights related to the protection of personal data for 35 young people, during the project period.
