Unemployment among young people is not a new phenomenon and according to a study by Ernest & Young called "Avoiding a lost generation", the main solution to the problem of unemployment among young people is to encourage entrepreneurship among them. Even if the situation has improved in recent years, still the unemployment rate among young people, in August 2019, at EU level was 14.2%, while 3 of the countries participating in this YE were at the top of the ranking: Greece (33% )–1st place, Spain (32.2%)–2nd place, Italy (27.1%)–3rd place, Latvia (12.1%), Romania (16.2%) and Turkey (25.3% at the level of October 2019. The concept of economy social is expanding in the EU, but the term has different connotations in all the member states, there are cases where different interpretations of it coexist in a country. Thus, at the European level, there is no generally accepted definition of the social economy, the concept having different representations depending on the particularities of social and community development of different states. Thus, the "Business Pioneers" project aimed, throughout its duration, to achieve the specific objectives (OS) initially assumed in accordance with the "Erasmus+" objectives, namely: active participation, cultural diversity and social inclusion. The present project succeeded, thanks to the permanent interaction between young people who represented different countries, thus different cultures, religions, social statuses, to make the participants (P) better understand their role in society, not only in the community they come from, but also within Europe; through the activities related to the field of social entrepreneurship, they learned about the need for its development in order to create new opportunities for work and involvement both at the economic and social levels. At the same time, the project created a favorable framework for development, encouraging solidarity and tolerance among young people, especially to strengthen social cohesion in the EU. The Specific Objectives (OS) - SMART - that led to the achievement of the "Business Pioneers" project goal, are the following: OS1. Increasing the level of awareness of the 36 participants from the EU on the need to develop the entrepreneurial spirit, through the use of non-formal techniques and tools, during 9 days of activities within the youth exchange. OS2. Developing the level of knowledge and key skills in the field of social entrepreneurship of the 36 participants of this youth exchange in order to be adaptable on the European labor market, OS3. The development of business plans for the establishment and development of social enterprises, in a multicultural environment, during 9 days of youth exchange. OS4. Encouraging and developing solidarity and tolerance among young participants to facilitate social cohesion at the level of the European Union, during the implementation of the project. In addition to the general skills related to (social) entrepreneurship that the participants acquired during the mobility, through specific activities, they learned how to create a business plan (PA) and then how to present it in front of possible investors. They understood the usefulness and importance of a well-developed PA and a well-supported business idea. At the same time, the P young people developed the skills and abilities necessary to initiate a start-up: choosing the field of activity, building identity elements (motto, logo), sketching an estimated budget for the beginning. During the activities within this project, P acquired certain essential skills in any job, regardless of whether they will become entrepreneurs or be employees of a company, such as teamwork, communication and relational skills within it. At the same time, P's course in the field of social entrepreneurship contained complex and diverse elements: from the presentation of the concept by each individual national group, to information about the advantages and disadvantages of establishing a social enterprise, models of entrepreneurs in the social economy, but also the analysis and the debate based on some social business ideas. At the same time, throughout the mobility, P were encouraged to participate with their own initiatives in the field of entrepreneurship and to be confident in their ideas. All this could be achieved because all the activities were thought in such a way as to facilitate the opening of borders between cultures and the integration of P in the multicultural context of the project.
