The project ‘Training of trainers: from needs to sessions’ was a Training Course that was born as a way of solving the needs that we identified among the youth workers from the 4 partner NGOs. They need was to learn how to to implement quality activities with the youth they work with, while having the courage and the competence to be a good trainer. Here are the project objectives that we managed to achive with the help of this project: 1. During the project of the 24 youth workers will improve their session preparation skills, by being able to implement minimum 2 non-formal methods for needs assessment and formulating SMART objectives based on these needs. The participants became familiar with the idea of needs analysis as the first step in identifying training objectives. The approach within this project was one in which the participants experienced different methods of identifying their own needs in order to understand the dynamics and importance of these steps. A next step was the implementation of such methods in the community to develop these skills. 2. By the end of the project, the 24 participants will improve the following skills, regarding the implementation of a training session: communication, group coordination/dynamics and problem solving. Aspects such as group dynamics and coordination, communication and identification of the best solutions were taken into account throughout the project. The participants constantly worked in teams, learned to coordinate better groups, to communicate effectively in order to identify the best solutions in difficult contexts. In this sense, an example could be the moment when the teams went back to the high school to implement a session based on the youth needs. They managed to overcome all the difficulties, to communicate their methods clearly, to work as a group and to achieve their goal. 3. By the end of the project, the 24 youth workers will be able to correctly choose, implement and debrief non-formal education methods. The trainers presented numerous methods of non-formal education and talked about how and when can we use them. Most important, each participant had the chance to chose and implemented such methods. Starting from the theoretical to the practical, the participants learned the right trajectory to successfully implement a NFE method. They continued to implement methods in the community and sends us information about their good results. 4. The 24 participants will develop a more proactive attitude about implementing training sessions, will be more confident in their ability to work with young people and they will increase their motivation to create sessions that are based on young people's needs. The 24 participants proved to be really interested in becoming successful trainers through their high degree of involvement during the activities. At the same time, through the activities at the high school, all the young people left their comfort zone, formed teams with people they met a few days ago, learned to collaborate and find out the needs of the high school students. We consider these objectives achieved through the success of the activities during the project and through the desire of the participants to work and improve themselves as trainers.
