Year after year we are witnessing significant change in weather pattern. From droughts to devastating storms that used to occur once on every few hundred or thousands of years, and what is more discouraging, it is getting worse. Regarding only previous year, there was several enormous fires living devastation behind. We saw fires in Indonesia, Siberia, Australia and Amazon, lungs of planet Earth and all of us living on this pale blue dot. Although we are aware that these forests provide us oxygen, a crucial element for life, we act like we don’t. There are a lot of scientists and politicians that show will to solve these problems, but on the other side there are ones that act like it is an issue that is limited within borders of a state and it shouldn’t be a matter of global concern. It turns out that leaders of our countries were unsuccessful to act together and protect our environment and put effort to reduce our impact on climate change. Luckily, young people started to wake up and show to the world that we need changes, demanding from decision makers to go for more sustainable, circular economy instead of today’s profit based. Most remarkable event was campaign “Fridays for Future”, organized by high school students and young Greta Thunberg, 16-years old environment protection enthusiast. Last summer youth from Australia and USA were also very active, Jayden Foytlin, 16-years old from Louisiana was one of 21 young people who sued the federal government for violating their rights to a livable planet. We can see that younger generations are aware of problems and there is strive to tackle them in order to have healthy future for us and generations yet to come. Such events were motivation for people in our local communities and they developed ideas for supporting campaigns but also involved in making this project. “Active youth for healthier future” is youth exchange which will be placed in small village Jazak on slopes of Fruska Gora mountain in Serbia. It is a 9-day Youth Exchange from 15th-23th of September. 30 youth from 5 countries, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, North Macedonia and Serbia will gather in north Serbia to work together on finding solutions to tackle climate change and to apply it as campaigns in their local communities with help of their peers. In order to successfully make a campaign, it is crucial to know enough about the subject matter of the problem occurred, what are the options, and of course, how to implement it. This youth exchange will clarify what are climate change related problems that our plant face, how we cope with those problems in our countries and also in our local communities and smaller scale campaigns that address some of problems. Simple and inventive, but significant ideas will also be generated by youth and for youth. Objectives of the Youth exchange are to: 1.make participants more competitive in the field of climate change effects 2.assist youth in their strive to become active citizen 3.stimulate young people to be involved in processes of decision making and using different methods and tools for advising in solving climate change issues 4.boost participant’s level of skills and key competencies regarding critical thinking with focus on promoting reduction of impact of climate changes 5.increase consciousness of youth about other cultures and countries by giving them opportunity to create their international networks which will help them to set their hands on solving climate change problems because they have no borders 6.increase public speaking competencies and foreign languages by playing team building and ice-breaking games, working in different teams with mixed nationalities, learning to be part of the group and actively participate in all activities during program strengthening participant’s knowledge about Erasmus + program and its benefits, focusing on Key Action 1 and youth exchanges giving opportunities to participants for brainstorm and develop new project ideas. 7.inspire youth to have active role in their local communities and to introduce Erasmus + Programme to their peers and transfer knowledge gained on Youth Exchange
