Objectives

By implementing this project more natural encounters will be generated among staff members, and we wanted to learn more about dynamic mindset and positive psychology, in connection to leadership and mentorship with the intention to transfer that knowledge into our classrooms, and to our students. Through various events for spreading the knowledge, peer learning will be strengthened, by crossover meetings between the different teams of the school staff, as we gather around pedagogical and didactic themes to discuss. We often encounter students, and colleagues, with difficulties to cope with arduous or challenging predicaments and we wish to develop our ability to utilize those situations as positive experiences. To increase motivation and decrease stress, educators are going to work with further improvement through stress reducing work in the classroom and motivational conversations with students. Classroom diversity is in accordance with motivational growth among students and with professional development around new classroom methods, based on 21st Century Skills, we will receive tools that we instantly can bring into our classrooms.

Background

In recent years, an increased level of stress among both students and staff, has been noted. Among the staff there is no real sense of coherence and many experience difficulties with keeping up with their work tasks. Students exhibit unhealthy behavior before tests, exams, or events in their lives. The achievement of goals (related to grades) is at a standstill despite professional development activities among staff members and there is a need to be constantly active in our development of teaching, and collaboration between educators and courses. Through collaborative learning, and by being aware of students’ individual and collective successes possibilities are spotted for them to strengthen their self-esteem and thereby create opportunities to increase the quality of teaching. We applied to be able to further develop as an organization with special attention to increase well-being, and teachers’ in-service training in areas such as positive psychology, leadership in the classroom, and introducing new methods in the classroom.
