We wanted to achieve to see how other schools work around Europe among well-being and be able to implement something from this in our school activities in order to raise our own teaching quality. Our goal was to strengthen the staff in their quest to find their way back to a sustainable organization where staff and students feel good, and where goal fulfillment is a result of this. At Spekerödskolan, the work is based on the fact that all students are everyone's responsibility and there the project becomes a very important part of creating a consensus in the staff group around this thinking. We wanted to have the opportunity to further develop our knowledge of wellbeing through courses and improve the well-being of the staff and students. How do other countries work to implement well-being throughout the school day? How can we take advantage of their good example and translate this into our business? Based on dialogue and analysis of the current situation, we saw how the staff would develop in the right direction by meeting good examples from other operations in order to improve goal fulfillment after implementation in their own operations.
We applied for the project because we wanted to see a greater well-being among students and staff at the school. We saw in our sector that there was concern about the well-being of staff and pupils that was going in the wrong direction and staff turnover, both in management and in the teaching staff, has been perceived as far too high. We have seen an increase in students with mental illness and therefore we are keen to be better at supporting and finding new tools to be able to support those who have a tough time in the school environment. With the application for the Erasmus project, we wanted to get a common view in the college on the above issues. With exchanges with other countries, we hoped for inspiration and motivation from our staff. Our hope has thus been that the project would teach us more about how others work preventively to maintain the students' physical as well as mental health with the hope of good school results as a result. By taking advantage of other organizations' knowledge and experience, we saw an opportunity to start thinking in new ways and from a broader perspective through exchange.
