Participating students were expected to improve skills and knowledge in their field of VET. Students were to be given the opportunity to try their skills in a new context, enhancing their adaptability, independence, study motivation, and increasing personal responsibility for studies and work. This would be conductive to the completion of studies and consequent future social inclusion. Students were also expected to develop their European identity and made aware of the possibilities for employment within the EU. Participating staff were expected to acquire new skills and knowledge. They were to experience personal growth and to encounter new ways of providing education, while increasing motivation and satisfaction in their daily work. Staff were expected to integrate acquired knowledge into their own school. Thus, the project was also expected to become a tool for organisational development. The project was accordingly expected to contribute towards state-of-the-art teaching and training, and the increased employability of VET students, as they became more attractive to employers. An expected added value of the project was the enhanced attractivity of VET programmes for young people, as well as for skilled and ambitious teachers.
The project application was made for the continued possibility of short term mobilities of VET learners and Staff training abroad. The project, furthermore, aimed at giving students the possibility of carrying out part of their VET training in the partner countries, and for teachers to do job-shadowing and exchanging experience in, or through, the same partner organisations. Within the framework of the project, the applicant and the hosting partners continued to provide qualified and adequate placements for students and teachers within the EU. The project constituted an important element for the fulfillment of the applicant´s European plan.
