We wanted to achieve our goals of expanding the curriculum in ways that are more in conjunction with the needs of the professional branch. To insure graduates (alumni) become more employable internationally. To provide exposure to the knowledge and experience of diverse educational methods/ strategies that are proven to enhance student learning capacity as well as achieving the continous development of teachers and staff. We wanted to widen our student dancers’ perspective about training, performing, artitistry, rehabilitation, and self-responsibility. during the mobility to increase their agency and autonomy. We wanted to provide opportunities for inspiration and renewed motivation for the day to day aspects of learning as well as more clearly defining and concretizing the goals involved in becoming a professional dancer in a very competitive, international field. We wanted to make the education's standing as a serious VET more internationally recognized by sending our students and staff members abroad to universities, academies and conservatory's on the Eqf 6 level.
Balettakademien (BA) applied for this project to cement our internationalization goals. Dance is an international profession. There are too few dance companies and independent choreographers in Sweden who can afford to employ most young, recently graduated dancers. They are all looking for professionals with experience and can choose from dancers from an international pool of well-educated and practicing dancers. We need to be open to the international dance community to be successful in our goal of training young dance students to compete in this field. To achieve this, we want to encourage student exchanges with our European partners, to provide an arena for continued training and learning in institutions of a similar Eqf level and within the workplace with Erasmus Pro internships. Our goal also is to partake of developments/trends in dance medicine, rehabilitation training and condition training in allied fields that are circulating abroad. For our staff, it is a tool for developing competencies by sharing information and remaining up to date. Our goal to become an internationally recognized VET for professional dance students in Europe has been a central focal point and a major reason for participating in this project.
