Our goal from the beginning was that we would have an exchange with Scotland, but as Scotland is no longer a member of the EU, we had to change the host country to the Czech Republic. -Students' key competencies and professional knowledge will be enhanced through their two weeks of vocational training in Czech Republic. - The students get an overall improved learning performance through a better awareness of their own educational situation. - Improved employability through a certificate certifying vocational training in a foreign country. This makes that the individual stands out in a hiring process. - The international dimension of the craft program will be strengthened and become more clear. - Through this exchange of students with another country, lifelong learning will be supported, from both a professional and individual perspective. - Language training and learning will improve among students. - Improved language skills by using everyday English and professional English in an authentic environment. - Higher motivation to use English skills. This must take place both before the exchange at the preparatory meetings as well as after the trip when using English in the classroom and everyday life. -Improving the individual's development through increased self-esteem. Daring to be part of the exchange makes the student more capable in the future to take on new challenges. - Improved intercultural awareness by living with host families and participating in cultural and social events arranged by the host organization.
Our overall needs and goals within the organization at LK is to continue working towards a positive perspective on internationalization and broadening mobilities on more programmes. In this project, both long-term and short-term are applied needs and goals. We want to carry out this project as a development of the project we have already started together with vehicle and the transport program at LK. We see great advantages and gains in students being able to be in salon environments in one English-speaking country, where language learning becomes closely linked to the service and professional language and that the students get to experience a domestic everyday life in another country. We also believe that the craft program, with this project, will create a higher status both internally, within LK, as external. Hopefully this will contribute to an even more attractive program.
