In previous projects we had international APL on the BF and HA programs. Now we wanted to increase the equivalence between the vocational programs and offer APL abroad and job shadowing on ALL our vocational programs. Offering the staff job shadowing in the same region as the students will do their APL, there will be both higher quality in the preparation of the student mobilities and a quality assurance of the APL tasks as they will be designed for a known context. In addition these results, staff would also receive new stimulation and skills development. With this project, we hoped to increase the achievement of objectives in all our vocational programs. We wanted to improve the quality and outcomes of all our vocational programmes and to realize the EU's objectives of lifelong learning and mobility. By offering APL in Malta, the aim is to provide them with high quality APL but also to promote equality and social inclusion. Students from all socioeconomic backgrounds will have an opportunity to practice their professional skills, see another culture, improve their language skills and make lifelong international contacts that are valuable both for the visiting students and the contacts they will meet in Malta.
We wanted to develop our vocational programs and contribute to the municipality's set goals regarding internationalization. By participating in collaborative projects, we give students and staff the opportunity to gain new perspectives and thus the opportunity to develop the education. By comparing different organizations and cultures, a reflection and understanding of the outside world naturally arises, which in turn provides readiness for change. Offering internships and jobshadowing abroad is one way to develop the municipality's vocational training, increase the competence of the staff and make the students more professionally skilled. We want to an even greater degree, retain the students all the way through the education, right up to a vocational qualification. We live in a globalized world and internationalization is a priority area in the municipality. We wanted to give the same opportunity for all our vocational programs and we wanted to facilitate for students with less opportunities to join vocational training abroad. When our staff kwow the environment they can strengthen the students to dare to go. We also wanted to give the staff the opportunity to have personal development and get better language skills.
