Objectives

The main objectives were the following: - to experience and understand similarities and differences in the tools and methods developed for different countries and regions in Europe by highlighting basic approaches in nature and outdoor life pedagogy and didactics and how this is shaped practically in everyday school teaching and through guidance in outdoor life. - to better understand the conditions of foreign students and how they can integrate environmental ethics, ecophilosophy and traditional Scandinavian skills in their profession and in their own educational and natural environment. - to create a European network of partners engaged in sustainable nature and outdoor life pedagogy and create conditions for continued practical exchange with our partner organizations in Romania and Germany.

Background

The possibilities for a job shadowing mobility opened up when we started the strategic partnership "Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices" (2019-1-DE02-KA202-006112). There were several reasons: 1. To investigate whether the models and methods in nature and outdoor life pedagogy in other countries can be relevant for Swedish conditions by learning from professional pedagogues in Romania and Germany. 2. To investigate whether we at Sjövik could develop the course content so that it becomes more relevant for foreign participants. 3. Investigate the possibilities of creating a European network in nature and outdoor education, initially together with our Romanian and German partners
