The project aimed to give students the opportunity to carry out a valuable internship in another country. This would increase students' chances of finding work after their education. Students would gain a better understanding of both similarities and differences in other countries' work methods, work environment issues, and laws and regulations, and thus be better prepared for the labor market both internationally. They would have the opportunity to learn from other countries' ways of dealing with climate issues both in school and business environments and gain insights and a better understanding of how environmental issues can be solved in an effective and good way. We wanted to increase teachers' competence by shadowing teacher colleagues with experience in educating adults with poorer conditions: We wanted to get better at working with improvements in climate-impacting activities. We needed to get better at practical use of digitalization to make learning and daily work more efficient and flexible. By shadowing at our partner schools, our staff would be able to learn how schools in other countries solve e.g. distance education for adults and follow-up of them.
The purpose of the project was to provide better opportunities for students to find work and to raise the competence of staff through international exchange. Many of our students are far outside the labor market for various reasons. Sometimes this causes difficulties in finding internships and establishing themselves in the labor market. Internships via Erasmus+ can be a decisive, in some cases the only, merit in their CV. Students would have the opportunity to succeed with an assignment, get the feeling that they are good enough and above all that they are worth investing in. In accordance with our internationalization strategy, we wanted to exchange experiences and learn from adult educators in other European countries. Especially about the design of education for newcomers and students with weak educational backgrounds. In addition to pure professional skills, our goal was to become better at working with improvements within climate-impacting activities. We also wanted to become more efficient at using digital tools in teaching. With the help of our established and new partners, we would arrange relevant internships for our students and good shadowing/observation opportunities for staff.
