Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) represent an extensive economic asset and a valuable source of creativity and innovation. CCIs have become high-capacity engines for economic growth and have built a bridge between arts, culture, business and technology. Yet, evidence shows that the potential of the cultural and creative sectors remains largely untapped. Many get little if any training in business or entrepreneurship on how to start, make viable and develop a creative enterprise and this is because that requires the skill set of the entrepreneur. The CreateU team identified the following needs: more sustainable and financially stable cultural projects, activities and organizations; more profit-generating activities related to the cultural sector; more involved and stable teams in organizing the cultural projects; and more knowledge and competencies for monitoring activities and evaluation of projects' impact; more diverse and stable funding sources for the cultural projects and activities; better marketing tools, for increasing the sales and the access on the international / EU market; better knowledge and competencies for networking and for accessing the international market and developing more international cooperations.
