Objectives

The aim of this youth exchange was to encourage and raise youth voices and also enhance political participation of the youth with fewer opportunities, especially second generation youth with immigrant backgrounds who are more at risk to face social exclusion than their youth peers. By fewer opportunities we mean economical, cultural, social/refugee obstacles with reduced access to opportunities. The main objective was to raise awareness about the importance of minority youth participation in society and in local institutions' decision making and we aimed to change the attitude of young people about civic engagement and spark in them interest to participate and advocate for social issues/causes affecting their local communities both vertically and horizontally (Local, national and at EU-level as well as globally). OBJECTIVES to fulfill the aim were: - To empower political participation of youth with fewer opportunities; - To promote dialogue between minority communities and local institutions such as municipality, police, political parties and policy makers - Support and promote minority youth participation from the local level to the national and European level; - To enable participants to address issues of relevance to the course such as participation, integration, migration, discrimination, social exclusion, cultural diversity and majority-minority relations. - Develop practical approaches and methods for translating citizenship, social cohesion, intercultural learning and human rights education into youth work practice. - Provide information and facilitate contacts with the European institutions and national institutions To motivate and enable participants to share their acquired knowledge and experience and to act as multipliers after the project
