Professional goals: participants gain an insight into the organization, work and life in other cultural environments and gain more knowledge about the multicultural environment; get insight and strategies for intergenerational integration, connecting the local community with educational institutions; learn new methods and approaches for working with children (autism, deaf, speech and language disorders, dancing technics) from educational institutions from Europe; become familiar with innovations in the field of didactic approaches, with materials and adapted for children with special needs; acquire new didactic and organizational approaches for carrying out activities for gifted children; learn about work strategies, forest pedagogy, sustainable understanding and planning kindergarten activities with the local community. Personal goals: more open to new approaches, cultures and internationalization of knowledge; more self-confident in other cultural environments and establishing contacts with new people, develop empathy and tolerance, differences in thinking, behaviour; develop the ability to solve issues and dilemmas in a different cultural environment; strengthen their mental health; develop language competences.
Through past projects and connections (Ethics in Education, Erasmus+ KA1, KA2 and ESF and ZRSŠ AmCham Slovenia...) we develop diverse approaches, research practice and enrich it, and connect with the local community and beyond. We can only achieve quality when we understand, know and research our own practice. An important segment of this is learning about ourselves, understanding and researching it when faced with the practice of other countries and different cultural and educational environments. We are faced with giving support to immigrant children and families, integrating children with special needs, ways of implementing adjustments/providing additional professional help from a practice point of view and finding other organizational and legislative options and the ever-increasing social needs for intergenerational integration. It means a lot to us to get an insight into the work and organization of countries that have already created certain solutions and who are also open to other ideas. In addition to expanding knowledge and approaches, the goal is also to change our own beliefs, break stereotypes, and develop linguistic and ICT competences.
