Based on the identified needs of our school, we set the following goals, which we tried to pursue during the project: - maintain and expand networks of contacts and European partners for the implementation of joint projects in the future; - to improve the foreign language competences of teachers and students; - develop and deepen methodological training and digital competence of teachers to improve educational processes and learning outcomes; - improvement of some professional skills of teachers, such as knowledge in the field of sustainable development, improvement of some general competencies of teaching methodology and teaching climate (project learning, holistic teaching approaches); - to improve the motivation of teachers and consequently the motivation of students in learning processes; - improvement of creativity and self-initiative, and above all self-development of participants; - acquisition of some digital and organizational competences (organizational ones, e.g. time management and setting priorities); - improvement of some interpersonal competences (e.g. teamwork) and managerial competences (e.g. management of activities).
The school's past participation in international projects, which included exchanges, opened up opportunities for teachers to gain insight into the school systems of other countries, and they found many teaching practices at foreign schools interesting and useful. Erasmus Plus KA101 is seen by the school as a good option for establishing a more systematic education of teachers abroad. Otherwise, Škofijska gimnazija Vipava has been operating for 29 years and during all this time it has been promoting additional professional training for its employees. Internationally, until now the school has actively participated in the Comenius program and in international projects financially supported by foundations (ACES and Europeans for Peace-EVZ program), we have also implemented Erasmus + KA1 and KA2 projects. The Open School 2 project is actually a continuation of the Open School project, through project Odprta šola 2 eight teachers went on mobility. The experience in the first project Odprta šola a was very positive and the goals achieved in relation to the improvement of the implementation of methodologies, knowledge technologies, etc. have made it possible to upgrade the knowledge of teachers and the learning process. From this point of view, we thought it is reasonable to continue with a new project that would once again support the professional training of employees.
