The project was designed to achieve three objectives. The first one was raising the level of quality of our practice to motivate our staff to achieve excellence and be more successful in motivating our students to be more self-initiative in different areas. Slovenian formal education does not focus enough on didactic innovation, which is why we put it as the second objective of our project. Our teachers who have participated in previous international mobilities have recognized the value of their lecturers, especially the use of innovative didactic approaches. As the last objective, we wanted to expand international cooperation and improve the quality of our school practice. We also wanted to make both the staff and the pupils aware of the importance of European integration. For each individual participant, every European mobility means the acquisition of new skills, improvement of foreign language skills, exchange of practices with colleagues, the establishment of new contacts, an insight into foreign education systems, and an increase in individual motivation levels as well as their personal and professional development. Learning about education systems in other countries makes it easier to understand future educational trends.
This is the third stage of our long-term European plan, and we have a constant development agenda, which started in 2015. We are continuously adapting to the changes and needs of our organization. One of the objectives of our previous project was to improve the learning achievements of our students, which we have accomplished. In the last development period 2020-2023, we want to change our students' attitudes toward knowledge by focusing them on their own progress (not only on their learning achievements) and raising their level of self-initiative and motivation. As a rural school with a long tradition and a strong desire to improve and internationalize, we are committed to continuously improving our professional skills and reaching out to other European countries. Our teachers are highly intrinsically motivated, taking responsibility for their own professional development. Past experiences from previous projects have shown that the critical point of change in the quality of work only comes through new experiences and new knowledge. Training abroad is enriched by interactions with foreign colleagues and foreign lecturers. It is only through participation that we recognize what we would be missing out on if we did not apply.
