Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to raise the motivation of our students for active participation in the educational process. We are aware that motivation is the key to successful learning. We only see this as the willingness of students and teachers to focus their energy on achieving learning goals regardless of obstacles. Such directed action brings a higher quality of achievements. We wanted to achieve greater engagement of students to work at home, which also proved to be a weak point during the epidemic. With new, interesting approaches to the creation of learning content with individual applications (where the language does not play a major role in education, i.e. it is possible to change the language), we wanted to equally include immigrant students in the lessons and reduce restlessness in the lessons. At that time, we wanted to raise the initial use of ICT in classroom work to a higher level and support collaborative work between students, the use of educational resources, and equip them with ways to monitor their path (self-evaluation, self-regulation) to a given goal. Of course, raising the level of language self-confidence among teachers was also our aim.

Background

An intternational cooperation has always had an important role at our school. Our students are taking taking the Cambridge exams for many years, in which they are very successful. During lessons, students participate in e-Twinning projects. That was always our added value. In the past, we have already had several Comenius projects with international student exchange. This is the first time we have decided and applied staff mobility as well. With intensive structured courses abroad in the field of ICT technology, we want to ensure a dynamic and innovative learning environment. During interviews with teachers, we jointly realized that we want to take the use of ICT technology to a higher level. At the same time, another similar national project was running at the school. We thought it is important to be able to connect the experiences internationally. What we didn't know when we applied was that the corona virus epidemic would shake our already established teaching practice. As if we knew, participating in the project made it easier for us to work remotely, because we were already so much into researching all the applications and ways of working that we were able to cope with this challenge more easily and successfully.
