Objectives

By implementing the project at our school, we wanted to provide students with quality education in an environment that respects human rights and acts according to the principle of equality and equity. Through cooperation and acquired knowledge, we wanted to implement the results in all learning areas. By carrying out project activities, we wanted to facilitate the professional development of teaching staff, promote the mobility of employees who, for one reason or another, have not yet decided on it, and increase satisfaction and motivation for further work.

Background

In the past, as an educational institution, we have repeatedly faced the challenges of how to respond to numerous conflicts between students or when peer violence occurs. We have often noticed this among immigrant students. We have noticed that students at school, and even more clearly in their free time, connect in small groups, between which disagreements often arose. We wanted to get an insight into solving such situations and observe good practices from other countries. We were looking for additional knowledge in the field of managing peer problems, dealing with violence and wanted to learn about different approaches when working with immigrants in a cross-cultural environment. Through the exchange of experiences, we set ourselves the goal of improving work in the classroom and cooperation with parents and the wider community. We wanted to improve our knowledge in the field of effective assistance with language diversity and the promotion of constructive dialogue and tolerance between students. We wanted to help students establish contacts and show them that everyday school life (as well as free time) can be much more interesting if we don't limit ourselves to beliefs and close ourselves to narrow circles. At our school, the emphasis is on well-being, and the majority of the team also believes in this. The first thing is that we understand each other, that we are connected. The satisfaction of all stakeholders is a much more important result for us than one that can be measured bureaucratically.
