By joining the project we wanted to enable the students and employees to gain experience in an international project and upgrade their professional skills and competences and thus achieve added value on the labour market. By working abroad students acquire interdisciplinary, social and conversational skills, adaptability in a new environment, self-initiative, responsibility and ability to work in a team. By transferring experience and good practices from abroad we ensure and raise the quality of education in different forms in the school and outside it and encourage interest in our programs among elementary school students, which is reflected in increased enrollment. The goals of the project are therefore multifaceted and are manifested in different areas as acquisiton of professional and language competences, improvement of teaching and school staff training, reduction of inequality, gender equality and justice. We also wish to raise awareness of the importance of lifelong learning among the students and teachers and improve the quality and scope of cooperation among organizations.
Secondary School for Shop and Display Assistants Ljubljana educates students for the profession of shop and display assistant and economic technician. Our application for the project is a logical consequence of the school development due to the rapid changes in the society which is becoming increasingly multicultural and the presence of foreign employers looking for multilingual, professional, teachable and flexible workers. We wish to provide comparable European knowledge and skills for the students and employees with the internship abroad and we were encouraged to participate in the project by the experiences of other schools. The education of students is an important factor in the successful development of the economy, therefore their close connection and inter-change is vital. We constantly strive to improve cooperation at local, national and international level, develop entrepreneurial ambitions and internationalization of the school. We wish to transfer innovations and good practices from abroad to the domestic environment and thus encourage the development of creative solutions for problems and challenges locally and increase the motivation of our students for education.
