Objectives

We wanted to give the students of ŠC Ptuj the opportunity to gain an irreplaceable experience of carrying out their practical training in a foreign EU country. We believe that only through international cooperation we can keep pace with EU education trends and acquire new competences. The project also raises the profile of ŠC Ptuj abroad, and spreads awareness and belonging to the EU in the home country, which is the point of the project. We wanted to improve, upgrade and change our curriculum, especially in vocational subjects and foreign language teaching. However, we managed to integrate the remaining subject areas. By joining the project, we also wanted to give our students and staff the opportunity to grow personally, improve their motivation, and to introduce new practices and working methods. We wanted to achieve improvements in digitalisation and internationalisation.

Background

At the SC Ptuj, we strive to establish strategic cooperation with partners from EU and around the world, to realise our vision of internationalisation and to build a global network through international and mobility projects. We want to offer our students and staff the opportunity to engage internationally, to promote a greater awareness of the EU community and to give them the chance to acquire important competences for transferring good practice to the learning process, the home environment and businesses. We work to develop forms of international cooperation accessible to students from socio-economically weaker backgrounds, to develop multiculturalism and to promote acceptance of difference. Economic and social changes in EU motivate us to embrace diversity, so we take an inclusive approach to organising activities and promote equal opportunities for participants with fewer opportunities. Strengthening digital competences at all levels of our organisation is one of our primary objectives, as is advancing media literacy and critical thinking, to strengthen our ability to participate in a democratic life. At the same time, we want to raise young people's awareness of common EU values and fundamental rights.
