We wanted to improve professional (working in pharmacies and laboratories), intercultural (getting to know and accepting other cultures, adaptability), linguistic (communicating in a foreign language, enrichment of professional terminology) and social competences (promoting independence, raising self-esteem). The goal of staff mobility was the development of professional competences and an insight into international comparability, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of education at our school. In addition, the participating teachers developed intercultural, social and linguistic competences, which also applies to accompanying teachers. Considering that this was already the fourth consecutive project of this kind, we wanted to continue and maintain the established international partnerships with it, as well as to enable the new generation of students to do internships abroad. The goal was also the direct involvement of a larger number of employees in the implementation of international projects.
We registered the project "Professional, cultural and linguistic exchange as part of vocational education" with the aim of strengthening international cooperation and developing the internationalization of the school. In the project, we planned the mobility of individuals in vocational education, especially students, but also teachers. We expected mainly results related to the students - improvement of professional knowledge and thus improvement of career opportunities both in Slovenia and abroad and improvement of foreign language skills. With the project, we also wanted to develop the social and intercultural competences of the participants. The project also fulfills an important part of the school's European development plan, because by transferring the results to other students and teachers, it affects the entire organization and its visibility in the wider environment. The project complements the general goals we have set for ourselves as a school - the development of key 21st century competencies in students and employees.
