Our goal was to learn more about the fields, which are common to all institutions in the DOIO association. This means getting to know more precisely how Xabec ensures quality when working with adult participants, what innovative approaches they use when working with adults, we wanted to get to know their mobility system with an emphasis on the mobility of employees and learners in the field of adults, we were interested in their cooperation with various partners abroad, methods of cooperation with companies (practical training, projects, tailor-made trainings for them...), methods of introducing sustainability, green, digital content into work, career guidance of training participants and employees. These were the main goals, at the same time we wanted to develop possibilities for our various collaborations. We visited 3 different schools. With two of them, XABEC and Mediterráneo Culinary Center, we have already established some connections in the past and we wanted to deepen by visiting both schools. XABEC is a technically oriented school, but we visited it as a school that received the award of the European Commission for the most innovative school (year 2018), so we were particularly interested in the selected areas.
In the European Development Plan, the DOIO Association (Association of Organizations for Adult Education in Secondary Schools) defined the areas that we want to develop specifically. By applying for Erasmus+ projects, the possibility of international action and the implementation of mobility, we ensure that we address these areas, connect nationally and internationally, exchange good practices with partners abroad, and share and implement knowledge and experience within DOIO members. In the 2020 tender, we successfully applied for Erasmus+ funds for the sixth time and carried out physical mobility with our partner XABEC in Spain, whom we had previously met at the virtual mobility the year before. Based on what we have already learned about the host, this time we focused on the areas that we all have in common in the field of adult education: quality assurance in adult education, innovative approaches in working with adult participants, the mobility system, cooperation with various foreign partners and companies, introduction of sustainability, green, digital content into work, teaching, career guidance of training participants and employees, possibilities for our various collaborations.
