Objectives

With this project, we wanted to: - To improve the professional and key competences of mobility participants, enhance personal and professional growth, and foster networking and openness to an international environment. - To learn about the work, mindsets, and examples of best practices abroad and to compare and apply them to our environment, both at the level of the institution as well as at the individual level of each student or employee. - Promoting internationalisation, ensuring openness to the international environment, building on and maintaining existing partnerships with various EU educational and business institutions, as well as seeking to attract new partner institutions. Through international cooperation with high-quality international partner institutions, we contribute to the complementarity of educational content with the European labour market. - Providing support to all mobility participants, taking into account the principles of equality and inclusion for those from disadvantaged backgrounds (disability, educational difficulties, economic barriers, cultural differences, health issues, social barriers, geographical barriers). - In addition to the activities of inclusion, pursue the other key priorities of the Erasmus+ programme - preserving the environment / Green Erasmus+ and the transition to a digital society. - Implement activities in a way that expresses the key individual priorities, thus placing them at the core of the programme's implementation. The main objectives of all the mobility projects we carry out are rooted in and align with the objectives defined in our European Development Plan. We have identified international cooperation as an opportunity to ensure the Centre's high-quality performance and better positioning in the local environment, which motivates us to organise the mobilities in the best possible way and to realise the objectives set. By implementing mobility projects, we aim to increase the number of international mobilities of students, teachers, technical staff, supervisors, and administrative staff by 2027, strengthen cooperation in international projects, and establish international networks with high-quality and reliable partner institutions. The project objectives, which were implemented through the NAPREI project (slo. Nadgradi znAnje PReko Evropske Izkušnje ) at the stakeholder level, are to: 1) For students - improve professional and key competences as well as their personal growth, to promote understanding and acceptance of other cultures, to take personal responsibility, to increase self-confidence, to participate more actively in school projects, to promote peer support, a culture of harmony and problem-solving, to improve employability in the labour market, etc. 2) For staff - provide an international opportunity that contributes to a better understanding of social, linguistic, and cultural differences, facilitating professional growth as well as the development of new content and work methods, bringing new knowledge and experience into the educational process itself, raising it to higher levels, encouraging networking, openness to the international community, and involvement in new international projects. . 3) For BC Naklo - stimulate internationalisation and ensure openness to the international environment; integrate education and practical work; ensure that educational content is complementary to the needs of the European and domestic labour markets; raise the profile of the institution in an international environment; improve the quality of the centre's operations; expand the international network of partnerships; make educational programmes more interesting; and raise them to a higher level by integrating new skills and experience.. The Mobility Projects allowed students to gain valuable knowledge and experiences in their vocational field and teachers to acquire new skills and competences, which were then passed on to the students (mobility presentations, demonstrations of new approaches to work in practical lessons), to other members of staff, as well as to mentors and their workplaces. Teachers have integrated their new expertise into the educational process. This has increased the quality of our educational programmes. The students have obtained European-level knowledge, competencies, abilities, and experience in their field of specialisation from other European educational institutions and companies. During the mobilities, the teachers have worked with different stakeholders (schools, companies, protected areas) and have made new contacts, thus expanding the network of partners that will be the foundation for future opportunities for new mobilities as well as for other projects (strategic partnerships) in the future. In the framework of this project, we have established cooperation with four new partner organisations: Samen Maier/Austria, Roskilde Tekniske Skole/Denmark, Sihtasutus Junior Achievementi EESTI/Estonia, and CESIE (European Centre of Studies and Initiatives/Italy).

Background

BC Naklo's mission is to develop competent, independent, responsible, innovative, flexible, enterprising, socially and environmentally responsible pupils, students, adult participants, and members of staff who are capable of teamwork. To achieve our mission, the staff is aware that international activities are a necessity, and international cooperation has become an integral element of the short-, medium-, and long-term plans of the Naklo Biotechnical Centre in terms of content, organisation, finances, and staffing. Above all, we wanted the project to improve students' professional and key competences, to introduce them to different approaches and methods of learning with a focus on experience-based learning and, above all, to build on their competences in entrepreneurship. Through all mobility projects at BC Naklo, we strive to improve communication skills and the mastery of technical terminology in a foreign language, appropriate to the specific mobility destination (English, German). In parallel, we aim to reinforce the improvement of independence and self-confidence in performing tasks and in public speaking, as well as the awareness and acceptance of multiculturalism and social diversity, and to encourage and motivate students and staff to continue to take part in international projects. Through networking and collaboration with similar educational and business institutions in the EU, we aim to ensure the continuous development of the professional and key competences of our students and staff. Internationalisation and the sharing of experiences in an international environment provide us with additional opportunities to exchange examples of best practices, acquire new expertise, and, above all, enable our students to gain qualifications and skills that are comparable to those across Europe, thus improving their chances of being employed in the European labour market. We have therefore set out a long-term strategy for international cooperation described in the Centre's Internationalisation Strategy. Through mobility projects, we are realising BC Naklo's vision to be recognised as an internationally open centre of excellence in secondary and post-secondary education, adult education, and research in the field of biotechnology and nature conservation by 2027. The number of mobilities carried out was planned in the annual work plan for vocational and technical education and in the business and financial plan of the institution. We participate in mobility projects because we want to raise awareness among all stakeholders of the importance of international engagement of the Centre, educators, support staff and all learners in the European area, and thus of the opportunities to gain international experience and skills comparable to those across Europe. Mobility projects add value to the educational process itself, which is recognised by staff, students and parents alike, and is in fact our biggest motivation for applying for and implementing mobility projects.
