Objectives

We wanted our participants to gain experience outside their parent institution and see how our project partners conduct lessons. Student mobility was based on a participant's profile, then school team chose an appropriate partner. The participant's continuous learning and further development of practical skills were a priority in the school team's decision-making. We encouraged our students to build more connections with foreign students, to learn about their culture and get familiar with the place of their mobility. Our students improved their organizational skills, independence, openness, connecting and planning. The priority in staff mobility was to find a project partner who could help participants upgrade their professional knowledge the most. Our teachers of theoretical and practical subjects were sent to partners who have didactic aids for upgrading their knowledge. We tried to motivate our teachers to make their own similar didactic aids and later share their knowledge with other teachers and our students.

Background

Technical Education Centre Ljubljana has participated in international projects for over 16 years. We have submitted our project to continue with Erasmus+ mobility which adds value to our school. Our students and teachers benefit the most from the exchanges abroad which upgrade their knowledge and skills. Exchange students can perform their practical courses with an employer or in school workshops – laboratories. During the exchange, students gain theoretical and practical knowledge, develop intercultural awareness, build their independence and use the English language. Staff mobility is an opportunity for our teachers to observe the work processes in partner schools. Teachers learn about foreign school systems, their lesson planning and apprenticeship structure.
