This project was based on the need of young people (our target group and also the youth workers themselves) to find ways to cope with stress, take care of their mental and physical well-being and bring more clarity and focus to the chaotic environment filled with everyday distractions. As youth workers, we were aware of the problem of stress, as we feel it ourselves and at the same time observe it when working with our target groups, but this is also explained by research and statistics. One of the strongest and most effective ways to prevent such a situation is to practice mindfulness and apply a mindfulness approach in everyday life, which has great benefits proven by many studies, so we decided to dedicate the project to this topic. We wanted to offer young people ways to deal with stress and show them the power of mindfulness practices. Our efforts have been initiated on the basis of European research, which expresses concern about the prevalence of mental health issues, and this completely overlaps with the main objectives of KA1 "MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING". We wanted to support this initiative and bring the power of mindfulness into non-formal education. We have introduced innovative, attractive and interactive methodologies in the field of youth work to encourage the exchange of best practices and train participants to design, facilitate, report on existing and create new non-formal learning activities. We created an inspiring, friendly and safe environment for participants who explored the topic of mindfulness in youth work. Our goal was also to spread the message and impact of our activities not only on our participants but also on the wider audience through the participants themselves and their activities such as visibility and dissemination activities and project results. Participants embodied the acquired experiences that they will present in everyday life and thus enrich others, and we also focused on guiding participants in the process of transforming their experiences into practical activities that they can share in their daily practice and within their communities. We wanted to increase the capacity of non-governmental organisations by developing their members, expanding networks and increasing opportunities for future cooperation. The project and its activities were designed to improve the key competencies of the participants and enable them to use them in a practical way by working on project results, follow-up activities and public events. Improved competencies have thus helped participants to become more active in their communities and in the field of employment or the implementation of their own initiatives and projects. The project involved young people from different backgrounds, including people with fewer opportunities. The project activities helped to develop awareness of social inclusion, healthy living and well-being, ICT skills, information on learning and mobility opportunities in the EU, active participation, learning mobility and intercultural dialogue. This project was a great opportunity for youth workers and organisers to develop their skills, as the organisations involved improved their skills and participation in the implementation of intercultural events. We encouraged participants and leaders to create further activities, future projects, good practices and other results, which we shared with other organisations and target groups.
