Objectives

The 'Countryside for new youth generation' project was designed on the initiative of young people from urban areas who see their future outside the urban area. Rural areas are often considered to offer fewer opportunities, especially for young people and their active lives. The project is also a kind of concise overview of how demographic conditions change over time, that once rural families flocked to cities for work, now with urban congestion and lack of quality supply for their livelihoods young people see the countryside as a future. intensive settlement. Despite their enthusiasm to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the young initiators of this project still see the malnutrition of the rural environment. Through this project, we wanted to enable a group of 50 young people from 5 countries to exchange experiences, develop and exchange ideas through learning mobility, which would later enable them to participate in rural development. They wanted to directly experience how young people from other countries deal with the same topic, what were their challenges, motivation, potential complications and solutions, and explore the long-term ideas they intend to implement in their out-of-urban environment. Considering that as an organization we have already implemented a similar project and that as an institution that combines culture, sports and youth activities we meet daily with youth and youth initiatives, we also accepted this youth project initiative, formed it into a project and placed in the role of project manager. Through the project, we wanted to fully address these challenges, provide young people with learning mobility, which will offer them the opportunity to explore and identify natural and cultural assets, based on which to form their participation in the development of rural offer. Young people have thus acquired competencies on how to establish intercultural dialogue and actively participate in changes in local policies that support rural development, so that they are more open to youth initiatives and later involve them more in rural development. In this way, the project directly contributed to the objectives of the Erasmus + program: to improve the level of key competences and skills of young people, including young people with fewer opportunities, and to promote their participation in democratic life in Europe and the labor market. As the leading partner of the project, we hosted 50 young people from five countries, who were connected by the project theme and with the help of learning mobility enabled them to gain or. train key competencies to promote an active and diverse rural supply. Thus, we conducted a youth exchange in Ravne na Koroškem, with the largest part in our youth hotel Punkl, as well as in the surrounding area, so that young people could feel what local natural and cultural potentials of one outside the urban area mean. We enable young people to debate, socialize and at the same time exchange experiences, ideas and initiatives, thus realizing the set goals of the project. These were: - open and critically evaluate the problems of young people from urban centers, - identify the natural and cultural potential of the local environment and how to redirect it to an attractive potential, in order to raise the profile of the countryside, - overcome stereotypes about the future of young people from urban centers in rural areas, - encourage young people to interactively and mutually develop ideas for focusing the future on rural areas, - encourage the creativity of young people to use their hobbies as a basis for pouring local potential into raising awareness and rural development, - strengthen gender mainstreaming in rural development and networking among young people, in terms of the widest possible cooperation, - promoting cooperation between rural and urban areas for the development of a sustainable active tourism product and, consequently, a greater supply of the local environment, - through non-formal education, showing examples of good practice, further inspire young people to change from urban to rural life.
