The 'Ecological Vows' project was started out of the need to share information and knowledge with youth workers related to the ecological preservation of the environment and the sustainable development of youth mobility. As an association of youth hostels, we are committed to encouraging, promoting and advocating sustainable mobility, and during all the years of cooperation we have found that youth workers actually need our help to facilitate the introduction or upgrade of sustainable guidelines within hostels. Because the youth workers needed our help, through this project we provided them with education in the field of sustainable development of mobility and ecological preservation of the environment. Through the project, we wanted to meet these needs and solve the problem of introducing changes and upgrades, transferring knowledge to other young people (members and volunteers working inside hostels) and how to inform young people staying in hostels about the importance of ecological and sustainable mobility . We wanted to achieve: 1. Highly motivated youth workers who will acquire appropriate management skills in the field of social responsibility, 2. Reduction of financial costs, 3. Development of competences in the implementation of ecological and sustainable guidelines in youth hostels. The goals of the project were: 1. Increase of competences regarding planning for the introduction of changes for 24 participants during the duration of the project (reduced to 16 participants) 2. Developing self-confidence in the area of environmental conservation in your community 3. Training of youth workers in order to later act as agents of change in the field of development of sustainable youth tourism 4. Train youth workers to acquire the skills of ECO trainers and successfully act as multipliers 5. Raise the quality of digital youth work in the field of eco and sustainable youth travel The project promoted the development of the competences of youth workers within the organizations, which is one of the general principles of the youth chapter of the 'youth in action' program. By improving their key competencies in a specific area, they were able to transfer their knowledge, which they will later pass on to other youth workers, and to a greater extent to volunteers. With this, the project directly contributed to richer social inclusion with an emphasis on solidarity, as well as intercultural dialogue within the sector. The above directly focuses on the first and fourth points of the specific objectives of the program. As a result, the quality of youth work, which we carried out with additional informal education, was enriched, which enabled us to implement the project, which is part of the specific goals of the key measure KU1.
