The project '3,2,1,0 waste for travel waste' was aimed at developing new or upgrading existing approaches to keep the environment as clean as possible in the most marginal tourist places, which are gradually developing, and tourist places with a high frequency of seasonal visitors. By carrying out the project, we enabled young people from our and related organizations from our partnership to participate in the activity of learning mobility, in the framework of which we debated together about the challenges, possibilities and solutions brought by the habits of travelers and how, with an appropriate approach, they can be converted into a reduction of the amount of waste that travelers bring with them or leave. The project focuses on reducing the amount of waste in general and strives for a zero tolerance level for littering. Young people from the project partnership, who are part of travel organizations, note that travel habits differ minimally from one another, but the approaches to solving this challenge, which each country approaches individually, differ. The starting points set by the two young people when designing the project are the pursuit of the title of the 10 cleanest countries in the world and the contribution of sustainable tourism, which also includes ecological awareness of travelers and tourist accommodations. By carrying out the project, we wanted to delve deeper into the specifics of travel habits, which are constantly changing. By implementing learning mobility activities, we wanted to offer young people the opportunity to debate together about the characteristics of their places and/or countries that connect or differentiate them, as if they would find the answers to their own questions, gain a set of ideas and experiences from other countries that they could change or completely transfer to their environment. It means a lot to young people that they get examples of good practices and a stimulating environment where together as a team they would develop a model that would be useful and meaningful for travelers in all countries and innovative and acceptable for travelers. The implementation of the model makes sense given the specifics of the environment, the location of the tourist destination, the number of travelers in and out of season, and the profile of travelers, or the type of waste they most often leave behind. In any case, the project is entirely based on sustainable tourism, in which we want to achieve and/or maintain the cleanest possible environment with a minimum amount of garbage. With the project, we therefore wanted to delve deeper into the peculiarities of travel habits, which are constantly changing, and follow them with the vision of further preserving a clean environment by constantly reducing the amount of waste. Thus, the leading partner of the project carried out learning mobility for young people, in the framework of which young people acquired key competences for an appropriate approach in solving the problem of tourist accommodation or reducing the amount of garbage. Together, we have developed a common model that can also be used in other tourist locations. countries. The learning mobility was carried out in Bohinj, on Lake Bohinj, the location itself is located in the heart of the Triglav National Park and is also an excellent direct example of preserving pure nature with frequent tourism frequencies. At the same time, young people got to know and exchange experiences: - What are the specifics of travel habits and environments visited by travelers - How can young people participate in (co)designing a model that is useful for tourist accommodations and travelers - In what substantive and linguistic way to approach travelers and all accommodation providers in order to defend the changes made within the project At the same time, the goals of individual project activities were: - Open and evaluate the ecological specificity of tourist destinations - Identify the problem of travel habits in terms of the type/amount of waste - To recognize the potential of tourist accommodation in which it will be possible to introduce changes or upgrades - Encourage young people to interactively and mutually develop ideas, to find common solutions that preserve the environment - Develop a relaxed and unobtrusive model of approach to maintaining an environmentally friendly destination - Through informal education, participants will develop self-confidence to approach local authorities with the aim of presenting a universal model of ecological usability - To strengthen language competences, which are absolutely necessary for travelers and young people who are part of travel organizations. - Encouraging the participation of young people at the international level in terms of the exchange of experiences and ideas necessary for ecologically aware travel.
