Project summary

Forward to Earth is a 20-month strategic partnership project of four organizations from three countries that will develop innovative and high-quality modules of informal through interdisciplinary cooperation of youth workers, educators, architects, specialized builders (with land), storytellers (writers and writers) and media creators. learning and social inclusion through creativity and the arts with a focus on sustainable development and natural building with land. At the same time, the strategic partnership with creative and innovative ways of cross-sectoral cooperation will strengthen the power of all participating organizations, as it will expand the range of their other activities and thus enable them to develop their own capacities more comprehensively and sustainably in times of global pandemic experience. , innovation and the establishment of more resilient and ecologically, socially and economically more sustainable practices. The Forward to the Earth strategic partnership project is based on the assumption that all participating partner organizations are providers of high quality services and possess high quality specialized knowledge in the field of youth work, pedagogy, architecture, media, storytelling and earth construction. Through various research, testing, evaluation and naming activities, the strategic partnership wants to deepen this high-quality specialized knowledge and skills by developing individual innovations in each of the participating areas (sectoral innovations in the field of earth construction - implementation, earth construction - "architectural"). side, media - new approaches to storytelling, pedagogy - through natural land construction, youth work and social inclusion - through natural land construction and the creation of media content), where innovation in individual sectors will occur precisely because of or. by implementing active cooperation between sectors - strategic partnership. The main project activities will take place at two venues or. two "construction sites", with the first site performing "dismantling" and the second "building" a concrete house out of the ground. The activities of "decommissioning" and "construction" will be the basis for the development of innovative knowledge, knowledge, skills and practices, modules, manuals and other in the continuous cooperation of all involved sectors (architecture, earth construction, youth work, pedagogy, storytelling, media) content or intellectual results in all sectors involved and at the same time the main “construction site” of the central intellectual result of the project: EARTHLINES.

Objectives

With the project Forward to Earth we wanted to address the wider global situation that arose due to the outbreak of the epidemic, in a way that we specifically addressed the needs of the participating partner organizations of the project, which otherwise provide high-quality services and possess high-quality specialized knowledge and skills on the fields of youth work, pedagogy, architecture, media, storytelling and building with earth. Through a strategic partnership, we wanted to place the existing activities of the partner organizations in a new, more integrated and sustainable context, which would enable the organizations to be more adaptable to different target groups, recognizable in the general public, and to establish new, better working environments, system arrangements and interdisciplinary integration. We wanted to develop innovative modules of informal learning through natural building with earth and storytelling. After the pandemic, we wanted to help young individuals and various organizations establish more sustainable operating practices and develop their capacities in a holistic and more sustainable way.

Background

The pandemic: how do we move forward? Natural ecosystems in crisis; the "new normality" everywhere. Unemployed young people, young people in precarious employment, young people without perspective. Difficult social situations. Mental health crises, especially among young people. Lack of outdoor activities, quality youth work in rural areas and lack of active social inclusion. Architecture that is supposed to deal with the quality of living, while construction contributes more than a third of all carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and is a champion in the over-exploitation of natural resources, especially water and fuels, and the production of waste, thus representing one of the main culprits of global warming, ecological crisis and the disappearance of biodiversity. We asked ourselves: what can we do for a better tomorrow? The global pandemic has required new adaptability, innovation and the establishment of more resilient and ecologically, socially and economically sustainable practices from all sectors. We were convinced that the central answer lies in concrete contact with the earth, quality youth work, outdoor activities, art, community action, storytelling and the creation of relevant, REAL and USEFUL media content.
