The main goal of this project was to improve the quality of the provided teaching process through the education of our employees, and thus increase the interest of students in our region in studying at hometown. We considered the main means of achieving this goal to be the creation of opportunities for participation in a number of structured educational activities abroad, which is clearly related to increasing the professional and personal growth of our teachers. We considered the following needs to be sub-goals of the project: • introduce new methods and forms of education into teaching; • increase the quality of education provided by our school; • develop basic skills and competences of students, contribute to increasing tolerance and acceptance of differences; • develop critical thinking; • communicate interculturally and cooperate with partners abroad; • contribute to making our school more attractive; At the same time, we aimed to raise the awareness of our surroundings about the possibilities offered by the European Union through its projects, which are aimed at various types of cooperation, all in an effort to transform our school into a modern, progressive and competitive school in the region of our city.
The motivation for implementing this project was primarily based on the long-term goals and needs that our school has defined in the European Development Plan. Above all, it is a constant effort to work on supplementing the education and developing the professional skills and qualification requirements of our teachers, to improve their key competences, not only within the taught subjects, but also in the field of communication and the social level, and last but not least, to increase the quality of the school as an institution in the city and region, which is directly related to the constantly increasing degree of its internationalization. From the evaluation of previous projects, we also know that the participants of educational activities considered the social dimension of education to be one of the greatest benefits of participating in the project, primarily because of the stay abroad, the need to communicate in a foreign language and the opportunity to establish new contacts. In the same spirit, we therefore decided to implement this project.
