The aim of our project was to attract, improve and modernize the educational process and language education of all target groups of students, to acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills usable in real life and also improve language competences and skills of teachers using ICT and CLIL in educational process. To fulfill the goal of the project, our school selected suitable structured courses, which were attended by two teachers after receiving the grant. One teacher from the first grade and one from the second grade, both were selected according to predetermined criteria and both met the selection criteria for project participants. Both of them have completed second-level pedagogical education and are qualified to teach English, continue their further education in European school development and work on their professional growth, and are actively involved in projects and challenges. To fulfill the goal of the project, qualities are needed, such as willingness, enthusiasm, the ability to develop their pedagogical competencies and skills, the ability to help others and to broaden the knowledge gained abroad. Selected teachers have the above characteristics.
Our school prefers creative-humanistic education applying a creative and human approach to the students´ education. School profile is focused on the extended teaching of foreign languages, the acquisition of computer, science, financial and reading literacy and the development and support of physical education and sports. The school is attended by all target groups of students, from gifted students to students with special needs. Nowadays, there are more and more students from low-income backgrounds, as well as from single-parent families, in which the school often performs the educational function of a family. Since we live in a less developed region where there is a lack of job opportunities, many parents go abroad to work, therefore the motivation of both students and teachers is very necessary. As part of the European School Development Plan, in September 2019 we analyzed the current state of the school, the needs of English language teachers and students, described the school's strengths and weaknesses, and then developed a plan for the next two years. One of the solutions was the Erasmus + project with the aim of gaining mobility abroad for our school teachers.
