The aim of the project "Be inspired, be inspired" was to help our language school adapt to the changing environment of language education, deal with the expected new legislation in the area of exams and curricula, as well as succeed in a competitive environment. A partial goal was to expand the portfolio of courses offered by school so that they better correspond with the needs of adult students, update the content of courses in Romance languages, Slovak for foreigners and offer courses that would prepare students for international exams. We wanted to improve the use of IT technologies in teaching of foreign languages and train our employees so that they would be competent to use new applications and programs. In order to make courses more efficient, we focused on new approaches in the methodology of teaching advanced students. Job shadowing in a partner school was supposed to help us take over examples of good practice that would contribute to the overall development and enrich us in the field of testing. exams, certification, methodology, as well as management. By establishing international cooperation we have created conditions for further cooperation, exchange of students and continuous improvement in all areas.
As a key language training institution in northern Slovakia we do realise that language learning is an inevitable part of lifelong learning and we are trying to find new ways, methods and approaches to facilitate the acquisition of these skills to adults who represent a specific group of students. Being inspired and being inspiring are keys to success and represent the main idea behind the project that enables us to provide our students with a high-quality education and with the acquired knowledge and new competences to train our teachers . We wanted to use the experience gained to inspire our partners and to start cooperation with the school of similar type to in terms of management of school, certification, testing and methodology. Massive development of communication technologies and internet based learning poses special demands on development and progress in this area is very much connected with qualifications of staff and we wanted to be prepared and incorporate such methods in language learning. Broadening of portfolio , changes in syllabus , courses of advanced English preparing students for international certificates and promotion of other languages, these were other reasons why we applied for the project.
