Project summary

The project Harmonic Life was prepared by young people from Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland as their initiative to change the environment in which they live. We want to change the conditions for meeting the community of pupils and residents of municipalities where partner civic associations - Málaš, Štepánkovice, Wieliczka and Levice are based. The aim is to prepare and implement a set of discussions and workshops where young people will explain and show participants the need to change their attitude to food, its preparation, the way it is obtained and especially its waste. The next theme will be the need for movement and a healthy way to move in nature and at home to improve the quality of life. In our lives we often encounter different scents and fragrances, and diversity as well as diversity of materials and differences between people is also an issue that we will discuss at joint meetings and events that we will meet with young people and the general public in the community of communities. Among the participants of the discussions and workshops, we will create collaborators in the creation and implementation of the Feeling Trail, aromatic benches and vertical greenery as well as from willow material, which we create in all places of partner organizations. The culmination of joint activities in Slovakia will be the Harmonic Day - Health Fair, which will be attended by all project partners and the general public from Slovakia, while all prepared places for public use will be officially opened. The common day will be complemented by joint sports and cultural activities. A separate part will be tastings of national dishes made from local ingredients by local farmers. Created places will be used by the public to carry out other activities and will be a place to relax and meet community members. The project aims to support the functioning and better cooperation between young people and the community in municipalities with the support of their independence in the future after school and the creation of their own job.

Objectives

The aim of the project was to acquire and increase the knowledge, skills and attitudes of project participants in the field of environmental issues. By carrying out activities - workshops and discussions on selected topics, we wanted to increase the awareness of those involved in the behavior of diversity in nature and among people, access to food, their creation, use and waste and the possibility of reducing waste by reusing things. The prepared practical demonstrations led the participants to think about the principles and connections in the issue and to find answers for not worsening the climate situation. By processing proposals and implementing places to beautify public spaces, we have created a basis for a real meeting of residents in a pleasant environment, where they can lead conversations for better social coexistence and subsequent relaxation. The harmonious day led the participants to belong together and to each other through tastings and demonstrations of the created outputs.

Background

We signed up for the project out of the need of young people in the Czech town of Štepánkovice, Wieliczka in Poland and the Slovak surroundings of Levíce and Málaš, who felt the need for their peers to be lowly aware of environmental issues and the deteriorating climate. The content of alarming topics of environmental quality, which they learned at school, was not enough for them and at the same time they wanted to practically support it by implementing the beautification of public spaces. In this way, they wanted to create a meeting place for residents and members of communities to further reflect on the topics of improving our lives. They became more and more aware of the problems with the creation and distribution of local foods during the time of constraints, so they looked for places and people who deal with the issue and could guide them in the right direction. Our young people needed to explain, describe and show how things can be done differently when we know the connections and interconnections of natural phenomena. Diversity - biodiversity - waste - food - relationships between people and quality of life in given topics we can increase our skills.
